18.5 hours per week
Maternity cover until 31st December 2023 or upon the return of the substantive post holder

About the role
This position is based within the Engineering curriculum area and the role involves developing the career prospects of our learners. As a Skills and Employability Trainer you will deliver employability sessions and arrange structured work placements to develop skills and knowledge relevant to the learner’s qualification. You will also receive constructive feedback/reference from placement providers and plan, promote and deliver employer aware, employer experience and employer ready activities for all learners in accordance with the curriculum plan.
The successful candidate will also seek to develop effective relationships with placement providers, to ensure meaningful employer involvement across all programmes and will ensure that all learners undertake significant and meaningful activity involving employers during their study and achieve the right employability skills and mind set.
In collaboration with curriculum colleagues and under the direction of managers, you will develop employability skills for all learners through a wide range of work-related learning activities to enable positive progression in to sustainable and vocationally relevant work. The post holder will ensure adherence to the accurate and timely recording of all work-related activity and work experience. The role also involves monitoring and reporting on Key Performance Indicator’s in relation to work experience and work readiness.
About the person
The successful candidate will be able to promote and develop work readiness skills with learners, liaise with local employers and support learners in obtaining work experience placements. They will also have; Level 3 or higher qualification in the relevant subject area (or willingness to work towards in 12 months).
