About the role

The post holder will work closely with curriculum staff and Employability Co-ordinators to plan a range of employability activities for learners, including industry talks and visits. This is an exciting and diverse role, which allows an industry specialist to positively contribute to the future of the industry by providing learners with a variety of employability opportunities, in the form of work placements, industry trips, national and global competitions, and community projects. As a Skills and Employability Trainer, you will facilitate outstanding teaching and learning; as well as developing relationships with employers and creating business opportunities for our learners. You will monitor learner progress and ensure achievement of their goals, while implementing quality assurance plans to ensure the best possible learner experience.

About the person

You will hold a Level 3 or higher qualification. Level 2 GCSE Maths and English to Grade C or equivalent (or willingness to work towards within 12 months). The successful candidate will have professional standards and evidence of current practice within an area of responsibility and work experience practices and legislation to support learner experience. You will have knowledge of the sector and local, regional and national employers being able to work with learners of all ages and promote and develop work readiness skills by liaising with local employers. You will support learners in obtaining work experience placements, and have the ability to self-manage, to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. A positive attitude to change is essential with excellent skills in communication, time management, organisation and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
