About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and passionate Senior Early Years Practitioner to not only support children to reach their own individual potential and to ensure all children in their care are in a happy, safe and stimulating environment but to form part of our senior management team. You will have key managerial responsibilities such as opening/locking the nursery, taking payments and play a key role within managers and staff meetings. We are also looking for someone with a good sense of humour who can be spontaneous with activities for children and bring out the best in everyone. You will ensure high quality implementation of early years provision within the statutory framework of EYFS and other legislative guidance and policies and provide consistent and high quality support to the management team to ensure consistency and quality of practice within the setting. You will have responsibility for overall room supervision of the designated unit ensuring high team morale and carrying out 1:1’s and informing within the appraisal systems. We also provide a range of training opportunities both internally and externally for your continued professional development enabling staff to be upskilled whilst working.

About the person

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service, as well as strong organisational skills. You must be qualified to at least level 3 with a full and relevant qualification and have experience with supporting children with SEND. Experience in a supervisory role is preferred but not essential. Safeguarding and paediatric first aid qualifications are also desirable, however if you do not have these we can arrange once in post. You must be able to delegate and multi task and work under pressure. You will ensure that all safeguarding matters are identified, documented, cascaded and communicated as per policy with the nominated safeguarding officers. Working alongside the management team you will ensure that all staff are supported to create positive team working and consistent standards.
