The TEC Partnership is a large, innovative, dynamic and financially sound organisation. We are officially an “outstanding” educational provider and TEF Silver educational provider.
The BA (Hons) Human Scale Prop Making programme is a new course recently validated to sit alongside our Special Effects Make-Up Design & Prosthetics degree as well as the growing curriculum within the Faculty of Digital & Creative Industries. The course is a choice for students who want to commit to an innovative programme of studio based practical study. The Course is situated within a new art and design building next to the University Centre Grimsby building.
Reporting to the Curriculum Manager for HE Digital & Creative Industries an exciting opportunity has arisen for a practitioner, preferably with experience of industry to join this dynamic course. The initial focus of the role will be to promote, market and recruit to the programme leading to the first intake of students in September 2019. You will lead, develop, deliver, support and assess modules that challenge students to define and refine their specialist practice. You will support their development of an informed understanding of the historic, contemporary and professional contexts in which prop making exists. You will have a strong understanding of how to support specialist practices within a broader creative context. The person required will demonstrate a broad skillset in this field. Candidates will take ownership of their assigned modules and be responsible for the planning and delivery of session content, together with the marking of student submissions and the writing of formative and summative feedback. You will also need the skills or connections to build links with FE colleagues, appropriate external organisations, events and opportunities for publishing and exhibiting student work. Working individually and as a member of a team you will be expected to deliver teaching within a variety of settings including lectures, seminars, studio workshops, peer reviews and individual tutorials.
In return for your experience and skills, we can offer you a good salary, pension membership (TPS), access to a wide range of other Group benefits and opportunities for career and personal development progression.
