About the role
This role is to undertake the successful operation of the TEC Partnership’s computer networks and ICT facilities, including the provision of technical support for all the computer and electronic communication systems on a day to day basis, play a part in the development of ICT systems in accordance with the TEC Partnership’s operational needs. As a member of the IT Services department you will be expected to assist the line manager in the management of the Institute’s network ensuring that all information and communication systems function efficiently including:
- Setting up users, groups and new workstations in conjunction with the organisation’s policies.
- Ensuring appropriate levels of security and access are maintained.
- Trouble-shooting issues with both workstations and associated networking infrastructure
- Installation of new software and upgrades
- Setting up audio visual equipment and supporting AV events
- Documentation and Training of processes to users and team colleagues
- This role will necessitate travel to other campuses and sites.
About the person
The successful candidate will ideally be qualified to HNC or equivalent in ICT or related field, you should also have a very good level of technical and practical knowledge and competence in ICT and experience in advising and working on ICT systems, supervising staff and undertaking specialist ICT work. You will hold a valid, full, clean driving licence (or in the process of qualifying to hold a driving licence) as work will be carried out at sites away from the main Grimsby campus you will initially be based at. You will be highly organised and ready to deal with a large variety of issues raised by staff and learners through a busy Helpdesk system, being self-motivated and communicative with all levels of stakeholders. Using a pleasant and friendly approach you will enjoy working with young people, adults, vulnerable adults and those who require additional support, whilst displaying an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
