About the role

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Advisor for 12 hours a week, based at our Bridlington site.  The role involves the support of learners throughout the College Day as directed by their Line Manager. The successful post holder will:

  • Liaise with academic staff to provide suitable educational opportunities for learners.
  • Be responsible, as directed by their line manager, for managing directed private learning (DPL) with groups of students if required.
  • Undertake specific additional responsibilities, as directed by the Line Manager, such as supporting/advising vocational staff, or adapting resources.
  • Liaise directly with parents, service providers and/or employers as agreed with academic staff.
  • Provide interventions to individuals and small groups face to face or virtually to support learner’s progress, based on assessments by staff.

About the person

The successful candidate will have knowledge of a range of additional needs and behaviour management techniques.  You will have experience of delivering Learning Support within an educational setting working with individuals and small groups supporting with Maths and English and providing support virtually using Microsoft Teams.  You will need to have the ability to support learners sensitively and have knowledge of equality and diversity issues.  You must possess or be willing to work towards a Level 3 qualification in learning support.
