£17,372 FTE salary (£7,074.57 pro rata per annum)
18.5 hours per week, 36 weeks per year

About the role
The HE, English and maths department are now looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Advisor to join the well-established team. This is a fast-paced and diverse role, in which you will work closely with English and maths Course Tutors and learners with additional support needs to provide high quality and responsive support to help the learners achieve their English and maths qualification aims. Other duties will include: – Supporting the research, design and implementation of learning resources that can be used to facilitate delivery of small group and 1:1 interventions – Working on a 1:1, small group or class support basis with learners in English and maths provision – Providing support to all learners in the College’s Success Centre – To be responsible, as directed by their line manager, for managing directed private learning (DPL) with groups of students if required.
About the person
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with a focus on learners, as well as strong organisation and administrative skills. Candidates should also have: Level 2/GCSE English and Maths Possess or willing to work towards a Level 3 qualification in learning support Minimum Grade B/6 or above in GCSE English and/or Mathematics Experience of supporting in an educational environment.
