£21,261 – £22,473 FTE (£10,630.50 – £11,236.50 pro rata per annum )

The role of Job Coach is to provide support to young people with learning disabilities and support them in gaining the skills and experience needed to find paid employment and independence. You will equip students with the skills they will need for work by providing one-to-one support to each intern in the workplace, tailoring your support to meet the needs of the individual learner using the “Job Calving” and “Systematic Instructions” method.
Using each learners EHCP, a unique and tailored package of support will be created, allowing them to achieve their personal and employment goals. The Job Coach will liaise with the employer to provide feedback and support, working closely with them to create a positive learning environment for each learner.
The role will also include:
- Delivering employability workshops to groups of learners covering subjects such as “Preparing for a Job interview” and “How to write your CV”
- Assisting in the delivery of English and Maths key skills lessons using a remote learning environment
- Developing sustainable relationships with local employers, families and carers to ensure a successful home/working relationship
- Assisting in the marketing of the Supported Internship program and help to attract new students and employers
The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain rapport with a range of learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, as well as building strong working relationships with employers, parents and agencies. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, motivation and a genuine commitment to the inclusion of young people in education and employment. You should be a confident user of IT including being able to create dynamic and informative presentations.
