About the role

We are seeking to recruit an experienced General Catering Assistant for our refectory at Scarborough TEC. The refectory facility provides food and beverages for our students and staff, ensuring good food is prepared, presented and served.  The post responsibilities include food preparation including sandwich making and labelling. Assisting with due diligence when processing and preparing food by keeping appropriate records. Liaise with the Refectory Manager/Team in the refectory opening and closing procedures and display/service of food to all customers. Accepting deliveries of food and provisions and stock control. Maintain the kitchen/refectory area effectively adopting a clean as you go approach to all cleaning duties in the facility.

About the person

The ideal candidate will have at least 12 months experience in the catering and/or hospitality trade with a high level of customer focus and have experience in a working kitchen and serving food with an ability to multitask. To be competent in cash handling and use of till operating systems although training can be given. Ideally the candidate will have Level 2 Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
