Engineering Technician (20/421)
£6,036.28 – £6,336.43 per annum (FTE salary £18,281 – £19,190)
15 hours per week, 36 weeks per year

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Engineering Technician based at The Academy Grimsby, our 14-16 provision. The purpose of this role is to safely, effectively and efficiently maintain specialist facilities and to provide high quality technical support to academic staff and learners within these areas. This role will require the successful candidate to provide classroom/workshop support to teachers and trainers to ensure safe and effective learner to staff ratios. The key responsibilities of this role are:
- To provide supervision of specialist areas where learners are working independently to ensure safe and appropriate use of records
- to ensure care and routine maintenance of the designated areas and all associated specialist equipment
- Ensure the use of safe working practices within the terms of the Health & Safety at Work Act e.g. maintaining up to date and accurate COSHH data, safe systems of work etc.
The successful candidate will hold Level 2 or higher qualification (or willingness to work towards in 12 months) in related area and possess First Aid qualification or be willing to undertake within 12 months. You will also have previous experience of working in related industry or designated area and have Minimum of 2 years recent professional development in related industry.
