£18,278 FTE (£7,545.96 pro rata per annum)
18.5 hours per week, 36 weeks per year

About the role
This role is to provide practical and technical support to our Engineering Apprenticeship provision at East Riding College. As an Engineering Technician, you will prepare workshop materials for use by students and lecturing staff in practical sessions. You will provide supervision and support to learners during practical sessions to ensure that learning targets are met. You will manage material stock levels and inventories including the tools store during classroom and workshop times, and complete quarterly tool audits. You will also ensure that all machinery and equipment is installed and maintained, recommending and implementing improvements where necessary. You will carry out fault diagnosis and repair breakdowns accordingly. All records are to be kept up to date for machines, workshops and PPE.
About the person
This role requires a fully competent Engineer with relevant engineering industry experience on site and/or in the workshop environment. Candidates should have knowledge of engineering maintenance techniques and materials, Level 2 English and Maths, and a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Engineering or willing to work towards this. Candidates should also have knowledge of Engineering Safety regulations and an awareness of the Health & Safety at Work Act, experience of lean manufacturing would also be advantageous. You will have excellent IT and communication skills in addition to having a flexible attitude to work.
