About the role

The successful candidate will be expected to help in serving up lunches and carrying out key food safety standards. They will be key in encouraging children to try their lunches and new foods, along with preparing teas for the children and ensuring the kitchen space is clean. This position involves working directly with children in setting up activities after dinners, observing children play and informing the key workers responsible for development. You will be involved in meeting children’s care needs in terms of personal care and children’s health and wellbeing.

About the person

You must have a passion for children and fulfilling their learning and development and health and wellbeing. The successful candidate must hold at least a level 2 qualification in childcare or equivalent. A food safety certificate would be desirable but not essential as training would be provided. Experience of working with children from birth to 5 years, observation and record keeping are essential as well as communication skills and teamwork.
