About the role

The successful candidate will be expected to help in serving up lunches and carrying out key food safety standards. They will be key in encouraging children to try their lunches and new foods, along with preparing meals for the children and ensuring the kitchen space is clean. This position involves working directly with children in setting up activities after dinners, observing children play and informing the key workers responsible for development. The successful candidate will also be involved in meeting children’s care needs in terms of personal care and children’s health and wellbeing.

About the person

The successful candidate will be required to work Monday – Friday, 11:30am until 2:30pm and will have:

  • A passion for children and fulfilling their learning and development and health and wellbeing.
  • Hold a full and relevant level 2 qualification in childcare.
  • A food safety certificate would be desirable but not essential as training would be provided.
  • Experience of working with children from birth to 5 years.
  • Observation, record keeping, communication skills and teamwork are essential for this role.
