Carpentry and Joinery Technician (ref: 20/392)

As a Construction Technician, you will prepare and develop teaching aids and workshop materials for use by students and lecturing staff in practical sessions. You will provide supervision and support to learners to ensure that learning targets are met and assist in a wide variety of modules and related courses in a workshop or classroom environment. You will order materials, stock control and maintain inventories and other records.

The ideal candidate will have relevant construction industry experience – on site and/or in the workshop environment. You will have a general construction background and knowledge of maintenance techniques and materials. Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy are essential, as is a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Construction or a willingness to work towards this. You will have knowledge of Construction Safety regulations and an awareness of the Health & Safety at Work Act.

The post will be based at our St. Mary’s Walk campus in Bridlington, however you will be required to travel between sites to our Flemingate campus in Beverley.
